Market Strategy & Partnerships Intern

Curious about quantum? Help us explore markets and build partnerships that shape the future.

Quantum Australia is building the next generation of analysts, business development professionals, consultants, and future leaders. Our internship program is designed as a project-based experience. You’ll be directly involved in real-world projects that shape how we understand markets, engage with partners, and expand our reach.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategy, market research, stakeholder engagement, and consulting support, preparing you for careers in management consulting, business analysis, business development and corporate strategy - all while being part of the exciting deep-tech field of quantum technologies.

Reporting to the Partnerships Manager, your projects will involve:

  • Conduct market research across quantum and enabling sectors (e.g. defence, finance, semiconductors, life sciences).

  • Structure findings into actionable insights, reports, and presentations.

  • Support partnerships with pitch materials, opportunity assessments, and briefing packs.

  • Translate complex research into clear visuals and structured outputs for stakeholders.

  • Assist with outreach and engagement: track pipelines, manage follow-ups, and identify new opportunities.

  • Coordinate roundtables, workshops, and events, capturing insights to feed broader strategy.

  • Collaborating with the wider team and bringing fresh ideas.

What you’ll gain:

  • Hands-on experience in market analysis, partnerships, and business development.

  • Insight into the fast-evolving quantum technology sector.

  • Development of professional skills in research, structured communication, and business storytelling.

  • Exposure to stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and event facilitation.

  • Mentorship and project-based feedback to prepare you for roles in consulting, commercialisation, or business.

If you are a current student in business, commerce, management, economics, international relations, or a related field - this could be the opportunity for you! Ideally, you will be curious, analytical, and detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills. You should feel comfortable creating structured outputs such as decks, reports, and research summaries.  No quantum knowledge is required – we’re looking for students who are interested in deep-tech, commercialisation, and building the future talent pipeline, whether in technical roles or supporting enabling industries.

What we offer:

  • Collaborative and inclusive offices, co-located with startups and businesses in the tech space. Centrally located in Darlington at the University of Sydney.

  • A dynamic, supportive, and engaged team at Quantum Australia.

  • Ongoing guidance and support throughout your internship.

  • 1–2 days internship per week, with flexibility around your commitments and study.

  • A written reference letter to recognise your contribution and experience.
