Events and Engagement Intern

Curious about quantum? Help deliver events that spark ideas and impact.

Quantum Australia is shaping the future of technology, and we’re inviting curious, motivated students to be part of it. This internship offers real industry experience in a fast-growing, future-focused field. You’ll build skills, grow your network, and help create events that bring Australia’s quantum ecosystem together.

We’re looking for a creative individual who can help us make events memorable. You’ll gain experience in organising speakers, thinking of fresh and innovative ways to engage an audience and running events that create a buzz.

Reporting to the Ecosystem Development Coordinator, your projects will involve:

  • Coordinating venues, catering, AV, and event logistics.

  • Coordinating event delivery end-to-end, from registrations and speaker management to on-the-day logistics and post-event reporting.

  • Researching potential speakers, sponsors, and new opportunities.

  • Tracking ecosystem events for insights and ideas.

What you’ll gain:

  • Hands on experience in planning and delivering professional events.

  • Skills in stakeholder engagement and CRM systems.

  • First-hand insight into how national and international programs are delivered.

  • Exposure to a globally connected technology sector and professionals.

  • The chance to see your work make an impact and shape Australia’s quantum profile worldwide.

If you are a current post or undergraduate student studying business, management, events, communications, or a related field – this could be the opportunity for you! Ideally, you’ll bring strong communication skills, the ability to juggle multiple tasks, and a willingness to learn tools like Salesforce and event management platforms. No quantum knowledge is required - this opportunity would be perfect for someone keen to bring fresh perspectives and a youth voice into Australia’s growing quantum ecosystem.

What we offer:

  • Collaborative and inclusive offices, co-located with startups and businesses in the tech space. Centrally located in Darlington at the University of Sydney.

  • A dynamic, supportive, and engaged team at Quantum Australia.

  • Ongoing guidance and support throughout your internship.

  • 1-2 days internship per week, with flexibility around your commitments and study.

  • A written reference letter to recognise your contribution and experience.
