New Ventures Intern
Curious about startups and innovative ideas? Help bring the next generation of quantum ventures to life.
Quantum Australia is shaping the future of technology, bringing together researchers, entrepreneurs, industry and government to grow Australia’s quantum sector.
We’re looking for a curious, organised and ambitious student to join our New Ventures team. You will help deliver programs that support emerging founders and early-stage ideas, while helping to grow and engage our New Ventures community. You’ll play a hands-on role in supporting our programs, workshops and events, helping to build an engaged community, whilst gaining insight into how new ventures are tested and developed.
Reporting to the New Ventures Community Manager, your projects will involve:
Supporting the coordination and delivery of New Ventures programs, including NewQ and NextQ.
Assisting the growth and engagement of the New Ventures community, including helping develop community initiatives, content and activities within our community platform.
Helping plan and deliver workshops, events and community activities, from registrations and speakers through to on-the-day logistics.
Researching startups, stakeholders, opportunities and industry activity to support our programs and connect participants with relevant opportunities.
Assisting with communications, administration and reporting, including content, feedback and CRM updates.
What you’ll gain:
Hands-on experience in program and event delivery.
An inside look at how early-stage ideas are tested, developed and supported.
Experience working with founders, researchers, industry professionals and other stakeholders.
Skills across coordination, communications, community engagement and stakeholder management.
Build your professional network and learn about one of Australia’s emerging technology sectors.
If you are a current undergraduate or postgraduate student studying business, entrepreneurship, innovation, events, communications/marketing, or a related field – this could be the opportunity for you! Ideally, you’ll bring strong communication and organisational skills, curiosity, initiative and an ability to juggle multiple tasks. You don’t need a background in quantum or technology, just a willingness and keen interest in growing Quantum commercialisation and community within Australia.
What we offer:
A collaborative and inclusive office, co-located with startups and businesses in the tech space. Centrally located in Darlington at the University of Sydney.
A dynamic, supportive and engaged team at Quantum Australia.
The opportunity to work on real programs and projects and see your contribution make an impact.
Ongoing guidance and support throughout your internship.
1–2 days per week, with flexibility around your study and other commitments.
Opportunities to connect with founders, researchers, industry and other professionals across the sector.
A written reference letter recognising your contribution and experience.
