A first-of-its-kind research and development company has been launched by the University of Sydney quantum technology team that worked closely with Microsoft Quantum for the best part of a decade.

Elevating Quantum Women’s Voices (EQWV) is a high-impact, 8-week program designed to empower women working across Australia’s quantum technology sector. Through hands-on training, expert coaching, and high-energy networking events, EQWV helps participants find their voice, step into leadership, and be heard across the industry.

Gerard Milburn, a pioneer in quantum technologies, was the founding Director of EQuS in 2011, and is now Assistant Professor in Quantum Optics and Quantum Technologies at University of Sussex and first Quantum Fellow at the National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC).

This week, RMIT Centre for Applied Quantum Technologies (RAQT), led by Professor Jared Cole, was launched by the University. The Centre will bring together key researchers in both the School of Science and Engineering to focus on quantum breakthroughs.
